I have just recieved a message from Claire French, Eddies daughter, Eddie lost his battle with cancer last night and he is gone from us, just a couple of days ago he was telling me that he was taking coffee on the veranda and enjoying the sunshine.
    Stand down soldier, duty done.

I only really knew Ed through loads of e-mails and too few phone calls; it is my eternal regret that I never met him in person. I had known he was unwell, but to read of his death on FB came as a total shock.
We found common links and a closeness from some shared experiences; he was proud of his family and their fierce loyalty and love, that came through on occasions we spoke on the phone.
You're missed mate, and always will be.
          Rest easy, Kingo.

Ed would have been 57 today.

Happy birthday mate, free bar where you are, I bet. Have a good one bro.

Be who you are and say what you feel...

Remembering a good friend and comrade, on what would have been his 58th birthday, 18th May.

Always remembered bro, open bar where you are again, I hope. Cheers, Kingo.
