Cpl of Horse Barry Cox was murder on 17/05/1973 aged 28. He was off duty. He along with Sgt Frederick William Drake 5DG, C/Sgt Place Prince of Wales Own. Sgt S Young Royal Military Police,. Sgt DB Read Royal Marines.

They killed by booby trap bomb while getting into car, outside Knock-na-Moe Castle Hotel, Omagh, County Tyrone.
It was said that one of them had brought a car off a RUC officer a few days before.

We said hello but not goodbye you had to Fly.
That night left Joan and myself laugh hearing the bang
It was fear of 18 more months we knew wouldn't fly
We went to sleep wrapped up in our thoughts ears rang
A new day came my life would never be the same
The morning flew lunch came I hear the news come on UTV
A bomb in Omagh last night I hear him speak your name
My head spun the the stairs I made the tears, taste the sea
My stomach felt empty , my thoughts raced , felt pain
We said hello but not good bye you had to fly.

In Memory Of Cpl of Horse Barry[ Pip] Cox RHG/D .

          rememberance

          May they rest in peace.
Getting caught in a bomb blast is horrible and never goes away, cannot say more for now.
          We will remember them.
