    9th March 1977
    Pte John Reid - Aged 52
    8th Bn. Ulster Defence Regiment - L Coy
    Ambushed and shot by the IRA as he went to feed his cattle at his home in Glasslough. The gunmen took his body and dumped him 5 and a half miles away at the border. He was single and was Off Duty at the time of his murder.

                            John is buried in Minterburn Presbyterian Church yard, in a family plot.
