On 28th February 1985, Newry RUC Station came under heavy mortar attack by IRA terrorists.
The officers listed here all died in an explosion when the canteen sustained a direct hit.
This was the largest loss of life in a single terrorist incident ever suffered by the RUC GC during its entire history.
